A Modern Black and White Wedding at The Mint Museum in Charlotte | Eric & Kyle

Eric & Kyle’s Candlelit Celebration at The Mint Museum

Some weddings are defined by a color palette. Others are remembered for a feeling.

For Eric and Kyle, their wedding day at The Mint Museum in Charlotte was both.

Designed with a refined black and white aesthetic, the celebration sophisticated and full of heart. Every detail felt intentional, from the clean architectural setting of the museum to the more than 700 candles that transformed the space into a warm and romantic atmosphere. The result was a wedding that felt timeless, editorial, and truly personal.

With planning by Stephanie Alexis Events and stunning rentals and decor from Curated Events Charlotte, Eric and Kyle created a celebration that honored their love story while surrounding their guests with beauty, connection, and joy.

A Stylish First Look in Uptown Charlotte

The day began in the heart of Uptown Charlotte with portraits that perfectly reflected the couple’s modern vision.

Eric and Kyle embraced classic black tie fashion with a contemporary twist. Crisp tuxedos, polished accessories, and elegant white calla lily boutonnieres created a look that was sophisticated yet effortless. Their portraits among the city’s striking architecture brought an editorial feel to the day while highlighting the energy and style of Charlotte.

A Contemporary Ceremony Surrounded by Art

The Mint Museum provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s minimalist ceremony.

Floor to ceiling windows filled the space with natural light while colorful artwork created a dramatic contrast against the wedding’s black and white palette. A softly draped ceremony backdrop offered a clean focal point that complemented the modern architecture without competing with it.

As guests gathered, the atmosphere felt intimate and welcoming. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by the people who mattered most, creating a ceremony that was both meaningful and beautifully understated.

More Than 700 Candles Created an Unforgettable Ambiance

One of the most memorable design elements of the day was the incredible candle installation.

More than 700 candles illuminated the celebration, casting a romantic glow throughout the museum. The soft flicker of candlelight brought warmth to the contemporary setting and elevated every space, from the ceremony to the reception.

The monochromatic design palette allowed texture, light, and architecture to take center stage. Black linens, elegant details, and thoughtfully curated rentals created a refined environment that felt luxurious without being excessive.

The overall design proved that simplicity, when executed thoughtfully, can make an extraordinary impact.

A Celebration Rooted in Community

While the design was stunning, what truly made the day unforgettable was the love that filled every moment.

For Eric and Kyle, one of their favorite memories was looking around and seeing all of their favorite people together, laughing, celebrating, and sharing in the joy of the day. Creating a welcoming space where guests felt comfortable, cared for, and connected was one of their highest priorities, and it was evident throughout the celebration.

That sense of community could be felt in every interaction, every toast, and every joyful moment on the dance floor.

A Night Filled with Joy

As the evening continued, the celebration became even more vibrant.

Guests gathered beneath the glow of candlelight, shared heartfelt conversations, and danced the night away. The contrast of the elegant black tie attire against the warm atmosphere created a celebration that felt both elevated and inviting.

From emotional ceremony moments to energetic reception memories, Eric and Kyle’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful celebrations are the ones centered on love, connection, and the people who make life special.
