A Glamorous Ritz-Carlton Wedding | Joy & Edward
Joy and Edward’s wedding at The Ritz Carlton Charlotte brought a polished black tie aesthetic to one of the city’s most distinctive spaces. Layers of white florals, candlelight, dramatic draping and greenery transformed the setting, while meaningful traditions kept the celebration deeply personal.
From an intimate exchange of vows to a lively second line, their wedding balanced striking design with moments centered on family, culture and connection.
A Dramatic Ceremony at The Ritz Carlton Charlotte
The ceremony made full use of The Ritz Carlton Charlotte’s soaring architecture. White draping framed the space while lush greenery and elevated white floral arrangements softened the modern surroundings.
Guests gathered on clear chairs facing a clean white ceremony backdrop, allowing the florals and natural light from above to become part of the design. As Joy made her way toward Edward, the dramatic aisle created one of the day’s most striking perspectives.
For the couple, however, the significance of the ceremony went far beyond the setting.
“Reciting our vows was the best memory of our wedding because it was the most genuine and meaningful moment of the day,” Joy shared. “More than any decoration, photograph, or celebration, those words captured the reason we were there and marked the beginning of our life together.”
A Bridal Look Made for the Setting
Joy chose an off the shoulder gown covered in intricate floral lace and delicate embellishment. The fitted silhouette transitioned into a sweeping train, with a long veil adding movement and drama to portraits throughout The Ritz Carlton Charlotte.
Edward complemented her look in a classic black tuxedo with a white bow tie. Together, their black and white attire carried the formal aesthetic of the celebration from ceremony through reception.
White Florals, Candlelight and Elevated Design
The reception continued the all white palette with layers of texture and warm candlelight. Tall arrangements of white hydrangeas and roses rose above the tables, while trees and greenery brought height and dimension throughout the room.
Clear chairs allowed the floral design and textured linens to remain the visual focus. Gold accents appeared throughout the place settings, adding warmth without taking away from the restrained palette.
Curated Events Charlotte helped complete the reception setting through decor and rentals that complemented the scale and modern architecture of the venue.
As evening set in, dozens of candles illuminated the tables and staircase, creating a dramatic atmosphere for the celebration that followed.
A Celebration Rooted in Tradition
Joy and Edward incorporated traditions that reflected their families and backgrounds throughout the wedding. The couple jumped the broom, and Edward’s Louisiana roots inspired another memorable addition to the celebration.
“Edward is from Louisiana, so we incorporated local tradition by having a second line,” Joy shared.
Complete with brass band music and umbrellas, the second line brought guests together for a spirited moment that shifted the evening from formal reception to full celebration.
An Evening at The Ritz Carlton Charlotte
Some of the most memorable portraits from the day took advantage of the hotel itself. Joy and Edward stood together on the expansive staircase surrounded by greenery and candlelight, with a botanical light pattern projected above them.
The contrast between Joy’s detailed white gown, Edward’s black tuxedo and the dark architectural staircase created an especially dramatic setting for their newlywed portraits.
From their emotional vows to their second line celebration, Joy and Edward created a wedding that felt distinctly personal within the grand surroundings of The Ritz Carlton Charlotte.
