Elegant White Florals and Southern Hospitality at The Ballantyne Hotel | Baylee & Mike
Bringing Alabama and New York Together in Charlotte
When Baylee and Mike began planning their wedding weekend, one priority guided every decision: creating an unforgettable experience for the family and friends traveling from near and far to celebrate alongside them.
With roots in Alabama and New York, the couple welcomed guests to Charlotte for a sophisticated celebration at The Ballantyne Hotel that felt equal parts elegant and personal. From meaningful conversation starters to custom signature cocktails inspired by their home states, every detail was thoughtfully chosen to bring people together.
As Baylee shared, “Our wedding day was centered around bringing everyone from our home states together. We really focused on the guest experience as 85% of our guests were traveling in. From fun facts on cocktail napkins to cultivate conversations to our signature drinks being named Sweet Home Alabama and New York State of Mind, we tried to think of everything.”
A Grand Ceremony Framed by White Florals
The ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking The Ballantyne Hotel’s signature water feature, where guests were welcomed by a breathtaking floral installation created by Florallori.
A lush arch overflowing with white roses, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, and fresh greenery framed the couple as they exchanged vows. Matching floral arrangements lined the aisle, creating a seamless garden inspired design that felt both classic and contemporary.
The bride carried an elegant bouquet of white blooms that perfectly complemented her timeless gown, while the bridesmaids wore sleek black dresses that added contrast and sophistication to the overall aesthetic.
Elegant Details with a Personal Touch
Throughout the day, Baylee and Mike incorporated thoughtful details that reflected their personalities and the importance of gathering loved ones together.
Their invitation suite set the tone with soft ivory paper, gold foil accents, and refined typography. Every element felt polished, intentional, and fitting for the formal celebration ahead.
Even an unexpected rain shower became part of the story. Rather than interrupting the festivities, it created joyful moments and candid portraits that captured the excitement and energy of the day.
A Sophisticated Reception at The Ballantyne Hotel
Inside, guests were welcomed into a reception space transformed with abundant florals, candlelight, and elegant greenery installations.
Towering arrangements by Florallori filled the room with texture and dimension while soft candlelight created a warm glow throughout the evening. White blooms paired with rich greenery delivered a timeless look that felt elevated without being overstated.
The grand staircase became a stunning focal point, draped with florals and greenery that seamlessly connected the ceremony and reception design.
A Celebration Centered on Connection
While the details were beautiful, what stood out most was the atmosphere Baylee and Mike created for their guests.
From emotional family moments and heartfelt embraces to laughter shared between friends from different parts of the country, the celebration felt deeply personal and full of genuine connection.
Their wedding was a reminder that the most memorable celebrations are often the ones that bring people together in meaningful ways. Surrounded by family, friends, and thoughtful details that reflected who they are, Baylee and Mike created a wedding day that was both elegant and unforgettable.
