Vows That Wow | Allie & Trey

Some weddings are beautiful because of their design. Others are unforgettable because of the feeling they leave behind.

Allie and Trey envisioned a spring celebration that felt elegant, personal, and centered around the people they love most. Hosted at The VanLandingham Estate during Charlotte’s peak azalea season, their wedding embraced the estate’s natural beauty with lush white florals, subtle green accents, and thoughtful details that reflected their story from beginning to end.

As a featured Vows That Wow wedding, every element felt intentional while remaining joyful, welcoming, and completely authentic to the couple.

A Venue Years in the Making

Long before they were engaged, Allie and Trey happened to drive past The VanLandingham Estate and discovered it was a wedding venue.

Years later, walking through those same gardens as newlyweds felt incredibly full circle.

The estate’s blooming azaleas created an unforgettable backdrop for portraits, while the timeless architecture and garden pathways complemented the couple’s clean, modern style. The editorial portraits among the pink and white blooms became some of the most striking images of the day.

A Modern Bridal Look with Classic Details

Allie chose a sleek gown from Lovely Bride Charlotte that perfectly matched the refined aesthetic of the day. The structured silhouette paired beautifully with her dramatic cascading bouquet of white tulips, creating a bridal look that felt sophisticated without feeling overdone.

Later in the evening, she completed her reception look with sheer opera gloves, adding another fashion forward moment before cutting the cake and dancing the night away.

Thoughtful Details with Personal Meaning

Rather than building the wedding around a single theme, Allie and Trey layered meaningful details throughout the weekend.

Because the celebration fell during Masters weekend, subtle golf inspired touches appeared throughout the event, including custom Dyer Invitational hats, personalized matchbooks, signature cocktails, and a cigar bar.

Their vintage monogram carried throughout the paper goods and seating display, while hidden personal details made the celebration even more meaningful. One favorite was the green gemstone Trey secretly placed beneath Allie’s engagement ring, a nod to their shared favorite color and the lush gardens surrounding the estate.

Every detail felt collected over time rather than chosen simply because it matched.

A Garden Reception Designed with Intention

Every space throughout the celebration felt cohesive, refined, and welcoming thanks to the thoughtfully curated reception design. Curated Events Charlotte provided the décor and rentals that elevated the garden party aesthetic while allowing The VanLandingham Estate’s historic charm to remain the focal point.

Layered place settings, textured green patterned china, woven charger plates, natural wood chairs, and soft candlelight created a tablescape that felt both elevated and inviting. The design echoed the lush gardens just outside, bringing subtle color, texture, and warmth into the reception without competing with the estate’s beautiful surroundings.

A Celebration Filled with Music, Energy, and Joy

Music played an important role in creating the atmosphere.

Guests were welcomed with live violin during the ceremony before enjoying a saxophone and violin duo throughout cocktail hour. As the evening continued, the reception quickly transformed into an unforgettable celebration thanks to an energetic dance floor led by the DJ.

One of the night’s most memorable moments came during the final song.

In honor of Allie being a Christmas baby, the celebration ended with All I Want for Christmas Is You, proving that Christmas in April may be one of the best ways to close a wedding reception.

A Day They Could Fully Experience

Perhaps the greatest gift of the day was the ability to simply enjoy it.

“I envisioned our wedding as an elegant spring soirée that felt timeless, personal, and a genuine celebration that reflected both our relationship and the people who mean the most to us. Being in our 30s and surrounded by so many longtime friends and family members who have walked through so many seasons of life with us made the day incredibly meaningful. I wish I could bottle up that feeling.”

Guests Who Felt Like Family

One of the biggest stars of the day was the couple’s dog, Doobie.

Joining the celebration for the ceremony and cocktail hour, he quickly became everyone’s favorite guest and appeared in countless photographs before the evening festivities began.

Later in the night, guests enjoyed espresso martinis, late night mini hot dogs, custom hats, and one of the busiest dance floors imaginable. The celebration even included Poza Photo Booth Co., where guests captured memories that perfectly reflected the joyful energy of the evening.

Looking back, Allie says it best.

“More than anything, our wedding day was full of energy, laughter, and so much love. I completely lost my voice by Sunday, which says everything about how much fun we had.”
