Warm Color Meets Classic Charm at The Van Landingham Estate in Charlotte | Emily & Ricky
A Romantic Spring Celebration at The Van Landingham Estate
Emily and Ricky celebrated their wedding at The Van Landingham Estate in Charlotte, North Carolina with a celebration that felt warm, colorful, and deeply personal. Surrounded by the estate’s historic architecture and blooming gardens, every element reflected their vision, from vibrant florals and layered tablescapes to joyful moments shared with the people they love most.
Bringing that vision to life was Imagine This Events, whose expert planning ensured every detail unfolded seamlessly. The design balanced bold color with refined elegance, creating an atmosphere that felt polished yet welcoming. From the ceremony through the final dance, each moment flowed effortlessly, allowing Emily and Ricky to be fully present throughout the day.
A Color Palette Full of Personality
Rather than leaning into muted spring tones, Emily and Ricky embraced bold color. Their floral design featured vibrant shades of coral, cherry red, blush, peach, and soft pink layered throughout every space.
Guests were welcomed by an oversized floral seating display before entering a clear top tent filled with cascading greenery, woven lanterns, and long candlelit tables. Blush velvet linens paired beautifully with gold Chiavari chairs, delicate glassware, and modern place settings, creating a reception space that felt warm and inviting from every angle.
The colorful florals remained the centerpiece throughout the day, appearing everywhere from the ceremony backdrop to the reception tables and the bride’s bouquet.
Thoughtful Details That Felt Like Them
Emily shared one piece of advice for future couples that perfectly captured the spirit of their wedding:
“There are going to be a million and one wedding trends you are going to want to follow. Don’t. Only choose the ones that feel authentic to you and your partner. It’s your day. Weddings are not one size fits all.”
That philosophy was reflected in every decision they made. Nothing felt overly styled or trend driven. Instead, each element worked together to create a celebration that felt genuine and full of personality.
A First Dance Filled With Laughter
One of Emily and Ricky’s favorite moments of the day came during their first dance to Vacation Eyes by The Jonas Brothers. Rather than spending months rehearsing choreography, they chose to embrace the moment exactly as it came.
“We had discussed choreographing and practicing our dance, but it fell to the wayside with all of the other planning. We decided to just wing it and it ended up being so fun, full of mistakes, but mostly full of laughter and that felt the most us.”
That spirit of authenticity carried through every part of the celebration, creating moments that felt genuine, joyful, and completely their own. MRS. POV captured those unscripted memories beautifully, documenting everything from the couple’s laughter on the dance floor to the candid interactions shared with family and friends. The result is a collection of content that preserves not just how the day looked, but how it felt.
A Spring Wedding to Remember
From the lush floral installations surrounding the ceremony to the romantic candlelit reception beneath flowing drapery, every space at The Van Landingham Estate offered beautiful moments to celebrate.
Emily and Ricky created a wedding that proved meaningful design is less about following trends and more about choosing details that feel authentic. Their colorful spring celebration was full of warmth, personality, and unforgettable moments shared with the people they love most.
