When Charlotte woke up to a blanket of fresh snow on January 31, Alexis and Cam received the kind of wedding day surprise couples only dream about. Their celebration began at the Grand Bohemian Hotel before moving to The Casey, where vibrant florals, meaningful Jewish traditions, and an unforgettable winter backdrop created a celebration that felt deeply personal from beginning to end.

The snowy landscape transformed familiar Charlotte locations into something extraordinary, giving the couple a true winter wedding while adding an unexpected sense of magic to every photograph.

As Alexis shared,

“This is so hard, as there were so many amazing aspects of our wedding day. My favorite memory is just the fact that it snowed. It made the day so magical, and gave us a true winter wedding.”

A Fashion Forward Beginning at The Grand Bohemian

The morning unfolded inside the Grand Bohemian Hotel, where floor to ceiling windows overlooked the snow covered city. Alexis embraced the occasion with a playful bridal portrait session before sharing emotional moments with her mother, bridesmaids, father, and brother.

Later, she and Cam met for a private first look inside the hotel’s dramatic cocktail lounge. Rich jewel toned interiors, velvet seating, and warm lighting created an editorial backdrop that perfectly complemented the winter scenery outside.

Alexis wore an elegant off the shoulder satin gown with delicate lace sleeves and a pearl dotted cathedral veil. Her bouquet featured rich shades of crimson, magenta, lavender, and blue, bringing vibrant color into every portrait.

Meaningful Traditions Beneath a Floral Chuppah

The celebration continued at The Casey, where guests gathered beneath soaring ceilings and soft drapery for a ceremony centered on family and heritage.

Before the ceremony, Alexis and Cam signed their Ketubah, which was later displayed beneath the chuppah. During the ceremony they honored Jewish traditions by circling one another, sharing wine, exchanging vows beneath the chuppah, and concluding with the joyful breaking of the glass.

Alexis explained why these traditions meant so much to them.

“Alexis’s family is half Jewish, and her parents had a wedding ceremony honoring both Jewish and Christian traditions. It was important to her to do the same. Our ceremony was largely focused on Jewish traditions with a chuppah, Ketubah, sharing wine, and stomping on the glass. The symbolism behind all of these things in regards to marriage is very important to Alexis, and as she taught Cameron about them, he was excited to share in these traditions on our wedding day.”

The ceremony space was framed by lush floral installations overflowing with jewel toned blooms and greenery. Designed with dramatic height and movement, the floral chuppah became one of the day’s most striking design elements.

After months of preparation, Alexis and Cam surprised guests with a professionally choreographed first dance before honoring their families with meaningful parent dances. The dance floor came alive during the Horah as friends and family lifted the couple high above the crowd, celebrating with incredible enthusiasm.

As the evening continued, a live saxophonist, espresso martinis, and a packed dance floor kept the energy high. Alexis later changed into a modern reception dress featuring bold black floral appliqués before the couple ended the evening with a sparkling exit surrounded by cheering guests.
